Our physical laboratory in Dawson, Victoria, provides 6 dedicated ESD-safe test benches equipped with digital oscilloscopes, variable power supplies, and real ASIC test jigs.

Workstation & Instrumentation Standards

ESD Workstations

6 dedicated anti-static workbenches equipped with Hakko FX-888D soldering irons, Quick 861DW hot air rework stations, and fume extraction arms.

Oscilloscopes & Test Benches

Rigol 4-channel 100MHz digital storage oscilloscopes, Fluke true-RMS multimeters, and programmable DC bench power supplies (0-30V, 10A).

ASIC Diagnostic Test Jigs

Specialized single-hashboard diagnostic test fixtures for Bitmain Antminer 19-series (S19, S19j Pro, S19 XP) and MicroBT Whatsminer (M30s, M50 series).

Thermal & Airflow Chamber

FLIR E8-XT calibrated thermal imaging camera, Testo vane anemometers for CFM velocity profiling, and variable fan speed test tunnels.

Live 415V 3-Phase & Solar Test Bed

Demonstration subpanel with industrial Schneider breakers, C19/C20 metered PDUs, and a live 15kW grid-interactive solar test string.

Detailed Curriculum

Masterclass Curriculum Modules

A comprehensive 16-hour progression from high-voltage electrical safety to custom firmware tuning.

Module 1: High-Density Electrical Safety & AS/NZS 3000 Rules

3.5 Hours
  • Continuous load safety factors and 80% breaker de-rating rules
  • Phase balance calculations for 415V 3-phase industrial supplies
  • Selecting industrial C19/C20 power cords and locking PDU receptacles
  • Residual current devices (RCDs), surge protection, and earthing bonds

Module 2: Mechanical Teardown & Thermal Reconditioning

4.5 Hours
  • Chassis teardown protocols for Antminer S19 and Whatsminer M30s/M50
  • Cleaning hardened thermal grease and applying high-performance compound
  • Proper torque patterns for heatsink screws to prevent board warping
  • PWM fan controller operation, tachometer signals, and acoustic ducting

Module 3: Hashboard Diagnostics & Signal Line Tracing

4.0 Hours
  • Deconstructing series-domain voltage architecture
  • Probing CLK, RST, CMD, and RI lines with digital multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • Identifying open circuits, shorted capacitors, and defective LDO regulators
  • Reading and interpreting Linux kernel syslogs on test fixtures

Module 4: Firmware Autotuning & Operational Longevity

4.0 Hours
  • Flashing custom low-voltage firmware (Braiins OS+ / VNish)
  • Under-volting and frequency scaling for Australian summer temperatures
  • Automating night/day power profiles and solar inverter integration
  • Preventative maintenance checklists and spare parts inventory management
